Boating is a popular recreational activity in the Yuba-Sutter area, which includes four rivers: the Bear River, the Feather River, the Sacramento River, and the Yuba River. The most popular lakes for boating are Camp Far West Lake, Collins Lake, Harry L. Englebright Lake, and Bullards Bar Reservoir. See Bodies of Water for a list of other lakes in the area.

On the Yuba River, no water craft powered by internal combustion gasoline or diesel engines is allowed above the Daguerra Point Diversion Dam, except with permission from governmental entities. ([WWW]Yuba County Ordinance Code Title VIII ยง 8.57.021)
