The Fish Release Powerhouse is located on the Yuba River, at the base of the Bullards Bar Dam. It has a capacity of 150 kilowatts and is powered by the water released at the base of the much larger New Colgate Powerhouse. In the event of a power outage, the Fish Release Powerhouse can operate the Bullard Bar Dam's massive spillway gates.
The Fish Release powerhouse was built in 1986.
