The South Yuba Trail is a 12-mile trail along the Yuba River in Yuba and Nevada Counties. Hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding are permitted. Many remnants of Gold Rush-era hydraulic mining are evident along the way.
A large but remote segment of the Yuba River in Nevada County is designated for recreational gold dredging and can only be reached on foot, via the South Yuba Trail. This area is located approximately 1.5 miles above Humbug Creek.1
