The Territorial Dispatch is a free twice-monthly newspaper serving Yuba, Sutter, and
Nevada Counties. It is independently and locally owned. It claims that its "standards of ethics and accuracy exceed those of the New York and Los Angeles Times," despite the fact that virtually every sentence ever published in it has made its lack of any copy editor all too obvious. (Not that the Appeal Democrat employs enough copy editors either.)
The newspaper's regular feature writers include Marysville City Historian Henry Delamere, Yuba County Historian Donna M. Landerman, local historian Carol Withington, "Franecdotes" columnist Fran Crawford, "Thoughts" columnist Charlie LeFevre, "Fishin' Talk" columnist Boots Johnson, "The Way it Used to Be" columnist Larry R. Matthews, "Viewpoint" columnist Audrey Stricker, "News from the Brownsville Bailiwick" columnists Christine and Yvonne (last names withheld), and "Cross Views" columnists Wayne Vincent (pastor at Loma Rica Community Church) and Steve Souza (catechist at St. Joseph Catholic Church).
